Lavender Farm

Aloha Online Ohana!

Just when I think I'm getting a handle on the busyness, the boat starts a rockin' and well you know the story, sewing gets pushed to the back burners.  So today I thought I would share another little Maui gem.  I've been wanting to show you the Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm in upcountry Maui.  It is one of my favorite places to visit on the island.  The gardens are gorgeous, the air is brisk and cool in the early morning, and the sweeping view of the island cannot be beat.
Driving into the farm.

Would you like to take a tour?
Entrance to the Gift Shop

You will see many different varieties of lavender growing throughout the terraced mountainside.  Not only is this farm distinguished by its lavender, but also by its huge variety of proteas and succulents.
Avocado Tree
There are stairs to climb, porches to pad across, purple chairs to rest your buns upon, and beautiful sculptures gracing the trail all along the way.  If you have children, there is a scavenger hunt just for them.  As they explore the grounds with you, they can collect stamps to fill up their card.  With the last stamp collected, escort them into the gift shop for a delightful lavender treat.
Do get your exercise and walk to the top of the farm if you are able.
You won't be disappointed for this will be your reward!

Have a wonderful weekend Everyone!

Wow! What a beautiful place! At least if you can't be sewing, you are doing something else so pleasing.

I know about the busyness - I feel like January passed me by. I do wonder how other hsing sewists prioritize their time. Somehow when I make everything a priority, I'm back at square one (:

The farm looks like a lovely place to visit. I enjoyed seeing the avocado tree, too, since I never imagined where they came from besides a big pile at the grocery store.

Wow looks so beautiful, you live in a wonderful place. At the moment we have very cold frozen days which I wish would hurry up and go away.

I too was amazed at the avocado tree.

lovely photos

Breathtaking! I'm so glad that much of the land is preserved. It would be heartbreaking to destroy this scenery with buildings and commercialism. Thank you for posting these pictures of a beautiful land.

Mahalo for the tour! I was unaware of lavender growing in Hawaii.

Have you been to the goat farm, I think it's called surfing goat dairy? I wanted to go but it was closed the day we went.

Feb might be a month without sewing for me, yikes! Maybe I will try to make some sewing happen tonight even if it's just underwear! :)

Like Kyle, I did not expect lavender to grow in Hawaii either.
But what a spectacular view when you reach the top of the farm. Gorgeous.
Thanks for sharing. :)
