Sneak Peek #9

Aloha!  I am so glad you enjoyed the little journey in the last post.  I'll try to post more virtual tours as the summer progresses.  I had some business/gift sewing to catch up on these last few days, but I thought I'd show you a sneak peek of the fabric for my next project.  So....Do you think fancy lace (Gorgeous Fabrics) and beachy stripes (FFC) can live in harmony?  We shall soon find out!
In other sewing news, I'm a little embarrassed to share, but I went on a pattern buying bender.  In my defense, how could I pass up half off on Burda patterns?  I love Burda patterns, and they rarely go on sale here.  So when they do...well...I crumble. Here are my newest additions, several of which I am quite anxious to get at!

Hope you all made it over the Wednesday hump.  My youngest DS has made it over his swimming "hump".  Yes, in 2 1/2 weeks of daily swim lessons, he is now swimming back and forth, unassisted, across the short length of the the pool.  I am so proud of him and his amazing instructors/volunteers.  We still have a week and a half to go, but my biggest concern for him is over!  Sweet Victory!
I thought this was an interesting combination of geology and botany from our Swinging Bridges hike.  Hey if nature can make an unusual pairing, why can't I ;)

Wow, that is a LOT of patterns! And, as to the fabric, well you know me, I wear lace with any and everything, and I think it goes especially well with casual and unexpected fabrics...

I think the lace and beachy stripes go together quite nicely!
Don't worry about the pattern bender--when they are on sale, just go for it!
I went on a little Style Arc and Jalie pattern bender myself last night...am super interested in the SA patterns. Postage from Australia is quite $$. I bought the Jalies from PR.

Great haul on the patterns, and yes, you do have to take advantage of the sale. Can't wait to see what you are making from the fabric and lace. Finally, tell your son great job.

I love a good pattern bender! At least they don't take up as much space as fabric! :-)

Looking forward to seeing the lace and stripes made up! Love your new patterns - I don't think it's possible to have too many patterns!

Lace works with everything.
Some very interesting patterns... can't wait to see what you create with them.

I agree with comments above, never possible to have too many patterns. I will be very interested to see your Burda creations. I can never get Burda to fit me the way I would like, so I stopped using them.

Pretty fabrics in the photo, can't wait to see what you are making from them!

You will use everyone of those patterns, as you say half off you have to get them when they are on sale like that!

I applaud your Burda pattern bender. When there is a sale on, that's the best time to buy.
The fabrics looks great.
Congrats on your son's swimming progress too.

The fabric combo is terrific. On your pattern buying, You did well. I see great fashion ideas. And Hooray to your DS on his achievement. It's so fun watching kids learn and grow. I'm sure he take every opportunity to swim.
