Mahalo for all the birthday wishes! I had a fun day off from all household duties. My DH was amazing!
Also, school is not in session for us this week, nor was it last week, so I am taking some time to organize my sewing room, patterns, and fabric. Isn't it exciting to think about all the new fabric creations we can make in the coming year? Especially if we received anything sewing related for Christmas, or our birthday perhaps...maybe someone took advantage of the sales....
While I contemplate what my sewing and personal goals for the upcoming year should be and work on getting the sewing room organized, I thought I would show you this surfer bag. I was commissioned to make it for Christmas for a teenage girl. Once again it's my own design. The outside of the bag is 100% linen with a 100% cotton lining, and it is fully reversible . I love how bright it is. It is an adult size version of the bag I made here.
PS: I like the suggestion a couple of you made about wearing the Burda jacket with a pair of skinny jeans. While organizing I was reminded I have a cut of denim with teal shadowing. I could totally see it made into another pair of skinny jeans (Vogue 1204). Stay tuned...

What a cool bag!! I love that it's reversible!
Re, your sewing related gift, I organised for myself more than a few of those too...!
I'm a day late but just want to add my happy birthday wishes as well. Your new jacket is spectacular, great design and so versatile. I can see why you were saving that skirt fabric; it is so very special. Terrific pairing!!
Cute bag - love that print!
I love the reversible bag. It makes me wish for summertime! Happy belated birthday!!
What a terrific bag for a surfer girl! The only room in my house that I enjoy cleaning is my sewing room. It's where my dreams are. Plus I always find something stashed away that I've forgotten.
Great bag. I'm looking forward to your new skinny jeans.
Happy Birthday late! I just discovered your blog and I love it, I really enjoyed looking at the things that you invent and your projects, we will more often around here ..
what is it about the new year and organizing the sewing room? I''ve been contemplating this too. Cute bag!! and the jacket would be cute with skinny jeans...
Super cute!
I absolutely MUST have the "surf's up" fabric. Where did you find it??? I am totally into "Surfer Chic" and am out shopping for vintage travel/surf posters. And a Happy Belated Birthday to you.
Shannon... Thanks for the awesome idea and the quick reply to my question. I already found some online and have ordered it... and I put a post on my blog about your darling bag. You are so darn creative.
