- My name is Shannon, but my siblings call me Mushy... I am a 44 year old wife and mom. I started sewing in junior high or high school on my mom's Viking. I had an amazing Home Economics teacher who taught me solid techniques. By my junior year, I had sewn a Vogue Bellville Sassoon dress, rated "advanced" for prom. Sewing runs in the family. I can find 12 pins under my sewing chair alone.
It's a cute idea for an emergency kit, but $16 for the 3 ring binder? Wow!
That is funny. Does anyone remember a spoof Martha Stewart calendar from like 10 years ago. It was hilarious. The entry for one date was "Martha adds 2 feet to the Great Wall of China". On another, a Martha lookalike is pounding on a rock with a hammer "Martha makes her own potting soil from ancient Peruvian rocks..."... etc.
I wonder if my 300+ spools of thread would fit in that baggie? Probably not - might need a bigger bag...
Funny! I like Cidell's comment about finding 12 pins in her couch! I kinda think it might work for a travel sewing kit, though... What would we do without Martha!
I dont think martha proof reads these article. Even as a travel sized kits its too minimal.

12 pins; so priceless! Maybe there are lots of other sewing goodies in the other pages of the ring-binder. I used to enjoy her magazine when I lived briefly in the US. The pictures were really lovely I recall, all beautifully styled with gorgeous colour schemes. I've never seen it here in Australia though.

It makes a cute magazine lifestyle picture for people who like the idea of sewing, but aren't going to sew. Sort of like all the pictures of fancy kitchens for people who eat out at least 3 days a week!

What a funny picture....and great comments, everyone. How funny I musy sound to these non-sewers after declaring my love for the Susan Khalje needles and pins. Have yours arrived yet?
